Your YES

YES and NO. Simple English dictionary words that pack a punch. You can’t get any clearer and you can’t avoid them if you’re a human being! Jesus mentions them too in Matthew 5v37 and so then, they must matter.

But let your statement be, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’ [a firm yes or no]; anything more than that comes from the evil one. (AMP)

YES - an answer to a question a person may ask. Have you ever considered that you have answered thousands upon thousands of questions with a YES? What if you had said NO, would your life look any different? Just chew on that for a second!

But what happens, when God bids you come close and appoints you for a task? He asked many a man, woman and child in the Bible to take Him up on His invitation. What did you RSVP when He sent you yours?

He will never force us to say YES LORD, but His love demands a most resolute answer. The most crucial of all.

Your YES does not affect only you, but it will in fact will have an influence on many others.  Your YES may indeed leave a legacy far beyond your imagination.  

Let’s look to see how our YES affirms our decision. Let’s examine if our YES expresses a great delight in an adventure God has let us in on or whether our YES carries with it an underlying resentment.

For indeed the way we live out our YES is as important as giving our YES.
